Thank you for your continued support of NaBalam Isla Mujeres. Our absolute priority is the health, safety and well-being of our guests and colleagues. Based on the ever-evolving COVID-19 situation, we are following the protocols from the world’s leading health experts, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Mexican Federal Health Institutions, Local Authorities as well as the recommendations of the #SafeTravels Global Protocols developed by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).

It is noteworthy to mention that the Mexican Caribbean is the first destination in Americas to receive the #SafeTravels Stamp — a Global Safety and Hygiene Certification, which recognizes the adoption of protocols developed by the World Travel and Tourism Council — backed by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and more than 200 CEOs in the tourism sector.

We had a date confirmed for our new opening this past July 1st. 2020 and as you know, NaBalam has been committed to Mexico and the Isla Mujeres local community for decades.

It’s in uncertain times that we are reminded of the importance of our shared journey as a global community. Today, we are more aware than ever of the impact of our actions on others and the world. We remain hopeful in this opportunity to reconnect with ourselves, one another, with other living beings and the universe.

And though it is impossible to know what tomorrow holds, please be assured that we are looking ahead, through and past the COVID-19 pandemic, to ensure that you, our valued guests and employees, will always be looked after with the highest degree of care and comfort.

Staying at NaBalam.

Know that if you choose to spend time at our boutique hotel, we are taking all precautions to ensure you are in a safe place. Below are the necessary measures we will be enacting:

  • All guests will be required to fill in pre-arrival forms.
  • Guests will have their temperatures measured upon arrival and screened for symptoms.
  • Guests coming from red zones or who have been in contact with potential cases will be requested not to travel for the safety of other guests and staff.
  • Staff will be regularly sanitizing surfaces, luggage and other high touch areas.
  • Deep disinfection of rooms will occur before every check-in.
  • Hand sanitization stations, hot water and soap points throughout our hotel facilities.
  • Single entry access for guests and separate single entry for staff.
  • Strict protocols if COVID-19 cases arise and dedicated relocation facility (on-site).
  • Active communication with local doctors and treatment centers.
  • All staff will be screened on a daily basis for symptoms.
